hold on to yer horses cos its going to get rather busy this festive season… I’ve got lots you need to know:

Friday 6th December MDW40 @ The Attic, Free Lane, Leicester plays host to babble djs damien and mono, plus residents Mark not Bob, 2M Dave, notWill, Wandleski and Ken. Also on the 6th Krunch play the International Arts Centre (of which more later…) with guest dj Mr Rob (roadblock / babble).

Saturday 28th December babble FREE PARTY @ The Princess Charlotte, Leicester featuring special guest Jane Fitz (of London Peg Party fame) plus the usual babble suspects. Also Matthew John’s 30th birthday – promises to be rather a messy affair!

Friday 17th January 2003 babble begin a series of regular nights at the International Arts Centre, Garden Street, Leicester. Featuring guest djs from Deep Cartel – babble will be playing a return gig on Thursday 20th February in Exeter.

Finally thanks to everyone who came to the birthday party – what a night! I haven’t seen that many people at a babble party since the days of the Starlight allnighters, it truly was a fine night, with superb music in both rooms all night long – a big thankyou too to all our guests. Sorry about the PA in the backroom which blew part way through the night – it’ll be beefed up for next time… the end of february (28th) will see babble return to J21 for a joint party with underground house connoiseurs Smokescreen – should be another corker!

16th November @ Junction 21, Midland Street, Leicester It’s the babble collective’s 9th birthday party in November 2002. We are joining forces with DIY whose birthday it is too. I won’t tell you anymore about it as debs has written a little ditty with all the details.

While you’re preparing yourself for our next outing, why not check out our very own Debs this Saturday (10.08.02) at Leicester’s Abbey Park Festival. The week after (16.08.02) the Attik plays host to some of the wonderful babble faithful, deep house proponents MWD40; worth checking out.

All our dreams came true! Surely free parties don’t come much better than this… a beautiful green and pleasant site, beautifully crazy party people, amazing weather, candlelit creations from the pyro ladies, spangley windmills and some dazzling morning wear. No limitations, no cash required, no reason to go home. I’m still unable to write in any coherent fashion. It surpassed all our expectations. I only wish everyone I know could have been there – Owen and Phil, Nance and Damo, Bov, Louise, Neenie Bean, Big Al and everyone else who couldn’t make it. To the rest of you who did get there, hope you all got home safe and sound. See you all at the Carribean carnival next weekend?

Resheduled – We’re back on for a party on Saturday 27th July 2002.

Free Party: 27 July 2002 – yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, babble will soon be out and about for some free fun. Borrow yer mum’s car, scrounge the company pool car, hire a Van and load up with friends and beer. Check back here nearer the time for numbers to call (if you’re on our mailing list we’ll send you the details). Spread the word to fluffy folk everywhere.

babble at the Pump and Tap, Monday 3rd June: Jubilee free party – come and enjoy a day of luxurious free house music at the Pump and Tap (12pm – 12am) so come down and dance for the queen and country 😉

babble at J21 (midland street) May 24th a blinding linup for our last club night before the summer – dave and andy brooks (mantis recordings), fred lopez (floatation, birmingham), plus babble dj’s bov, damien and dave. . In the back room you’ll find some seriously funky delights being served up by Monkey Magic (Deep Water Recordings, Zenmasters, Club 333), Long Jon, D-Ali vs the Llamas and a healthy slice of Disco from our very own Debs :: For the footloose amongst you… babble goes to Czech… babble dj mono will be playing out there at a free party in Beroun (near Prague) on the 30th of April, along with Rob and Steve (Smokescreen) and djs from our hosts, Fuzzy Logic. (see site info and map [although note the detailed map doesn’t show the motorway that has since been built])… also on 2nd May you can catch Rob, Steve, Mono, Kev and Lillou at Quandrant’s Friday Feeling night at Amiveo Music Bar, Karlovo Namesti 24, Prague 1. Anyone interested in coming out to Czech should can contact us at info@babble.org.uk, we may be able to help with accomodation at the party site (there are some chalet / hut type thingies at the party site – I kid you not).

firstly thanx everyone for a great night, more things for free I say. secondly sorry to everyone I was supposed to be making a special fry up for after babble, and who ended up with a bowl of special k instead. looking forward to the next one, hoping to have some new toys ready to play with, see you there.

One day I’ll tell you something nice, but for now let me tell you something horrible. Our friends at DIY have had to cancel Groove Armada next Thursday (7th March) in Nottingham.

I got an email this morning asking me to put a comment on the website. Don’t know if it’s been cancelled altogether, if it’s going to be rescheduled or anything. So don’t try to find out anymore information from me as I don’t know. I will however try and find out more and post it here when I get it.

Sadly we can’t do a boat party for ages. The place in Worcester we used to use went bankrupt, and it now has new owners. They have been asked by the police and council not to have “dance orientated parties” on their boats. As they are trying to keep in the authorities good books, they have said that they will do this for the first year (yawn). Next year however we should be able to use their boats for a party.

This is not such a sad post. Oh no! I have just uploaded the babble flyer archive. See if you can repatch you brain cells back together.
