Well, THAT was chunky…!

I hope everyone had a good time… I know I did! Managed to loose one of the lenses out of my shades (that’ll teach me to go exploring down deer tracks in the woods – turned out I wasn’t quite as stable on my feet as I thought I was 😉 and probably a few brain cells too but hey, its a small price to pay for a wicked night dancin to deep house in the countryside! If anyone’s got any photo’s please let us know or even better scan ’em in and send them to us – email “info AT babble.org.uk” so we can put them up here. Watch this space for news of future events. Add your memories of the night via the comments link.

Friday 30th May – babble allnighter @ Junction 21 Midland St, Leicester. For our last allnighter till the autumn, we’re proud to present special guest David Duriez. David runs the top french label Brique Rouge, and has released tracks on 20:20 Vision, NRK, Stickmen and Robsoul. You can hear his mix from last September here. All the regular babble djs (Rob, Damo, Debs and Mono) will be playing too – they’re currently scouring the land for the freshest grooves to create a night of musical delicacies for you thang shakers. The back room will provide some serious competition for the funk fans amongst you – back by popular demand we have DiY’s Osbourne; the creative skills of Long Jon and John Peel Jr. complete the back room line up.

I’m also pleased to announce the launch of babble’s new internet radio station, homegrown radio. There’s a short mix from John Peel Jr up there at the moment, but we will be regularly updating the station with new mixes from all the babble djs plus the occaisional guest, so be sure to tune in frequently.

Finally thanks to everyone who came to the birthday party – what a night! I haven’t seen that many people at a babble party since the days of the Starlight allnighters, it truly was a fine night, with superb music in both rooms all night long – a big thankyou too to all our guests. Sorry about the PA in the backroom which blew part way through the night – it’ll be beefed up for next time… the end of february (28th) will see babble return to J21 for a joint party with underground house connoiseurs Smokescreen – should be another corker!

Happy Happy Joy Joy

All our dreams came true!babble rig Surely free parties don’t come much better than this… a beautiful green and pleasant site, beautifully crazy party people, amazing weather, candlelit creations from the pyro ladies, spangley windmills and some dazzling morning wear.two fairies No limitations, no cash required, no reason to go home. I’m still unable to write in any coherent fashion. It surpassed all our expectations. I only wish everyone I know could have been there – Owen and Phil, Nance and Damo, Bov, Louise, Neenie Bean, Big Al and everyone else who couldn’t make it. To the rest of you who did get there, hope you all got home safe and sound. See you all at the Carribean carnival next weekend?

Did you get caught by the spy camera? >>>
