More House About
posted on May 4th, 2006
Still doing my best to keep you informed of midlands deep house action during the extended babble sabbatical… Look out for Mo-Fi next weekend in Nottingham. I believe Smokescreen are doing a night in Oxford at the Zodiac this weekend featuring the Inland Knights… and further out on the horizon, City Fly have a new night starting at Original Four on May the 26th.
On a personal note, thanks to all the revellers who helped warm up my new house a couple of weeks back… without doubt a fully riotus affair enjoyed muchly by the host and hostess and as far as I can tell all who came. You’ll be pleased to know that the smell has nearly gone now, and the neighbours have been placated. There are photos over at flickr…

Dancing Action
posted on February 15th, 2006
Well, I may not have a full blown babble night for you yet (you’ll have to wait a wee bit longer for that, I know, I know, we are a bunch of slackers) but I do have some news of a couple of cracking nights of musical entertainment:
14th April 2006 (thats Good Friday) a Phonek gig at the Attik. In one room we have babble djs Debs, Rob and Mono… and in the other room we have Phonek playing electrial and accoustical niceness and also jon cank doing there thing as well as James kelly doing what he does best with 4 decks some giutars and congas and whatever else comes his way.
4th March 2006 Punky Reggae Party night at Sumo is on for March 4th, hosted by the Lobstafari himself (of babble and MWD40 fame). As his Edness puts it: “Its not house music, of course, but it should be pretty cool for anyone who fancies something a bit different”. 3 live bands: “360″ playing Ska, “Memphis” a roots reggae band, and the mighty “Barnyard Masturbator” (or “BYM”) playing punk rock plus punky reggae sounds from DJ Prince Lobsta…and all for a feeble £3 !!! MWD40 continue the party at oddessey straight afterwards (12 till 4am) - free entry too - see mwd40’s site for more details.

Update I’ve put up a few pictures from the recent MWD40 gig.
Hello babble people far and wide! I know things have been suspiciously quiet on the babble front over recent months, and I feel some sort of explanation is in order. If you want to know whats going on, you can read all about the recent life and times of the babble collective here. If you can’t be arsed to read all about our domestic bliss, suffice to say that before long we will be back to rock your boots babble style.

posted on May 25th, 2005
Deep house action this *Friday* (27th May) is promised by the rocksteady MWD40 crew at the Nile bar. Free entry, 7pm - 12am - who could resist?!
I’ve just discovered this after wading through the piles of crap left in our comments. Apologies if you had to wade through it too - if you ever meet a spammer, poke him in the eye for me. I’ve been away for a couple of weeks so haven’t been able to delete stuff till now.

babble and SaS all night house action
posted on February 19th, 2005
Friday 18th March @ Leicester Square babble have recruited the assistance of SaS soundsystem to bring you another night of serious house grooves. The image oven has already booked his flights down from Aberdeen so no excuses from the rest of you babblers! Sorry its been such a wait since the last one, but rest assured this will be a no holds barred large slice of your favourite deep house action. Should be nice and loud too, with extra pa from babble and SaS. With table footie and pool available if you need a break from dancing, how can you resist?
Tunes will be supplied by babble djs mono, debs, damien and rob forreal, plus special guests from SaS and marcus from Mo.Fi. Marcus has been playing in and around Derby in recent years and is now based in Leicester. He has kindly offered to assist the babble crew so expect to see / hear more from him in the future.
A quick note about comments: I’ve had to close comments on older postings because we keep getting rubbish from casinos and viagra merchants spammed there… comments on the most recent post will always remain open so you can continue to rant as much as you like

Birthday Reflective Reverberations
posted on December 6th, 2004
Wow…. what a great night! Fantastic to see so many familiar faces, and to share the night with so many friends. Great atmosphere and great music, I hope you’ll agree, if you made it down to our birthday shindig on friday. Apologies to Leicester Square… their smoke machine seems to have got a bit too hot and melted, and we nearly left with half their power leads (thank you cable removal pixies - you were very helpful but perhaps a little over enthusiastic at the end of the night!). If anyone has any pics please send them along to info AT babble.org.uk so we can post them up here. Thanks to the DiY crew for rocking the house with us, especially Simon DK whose deep grooves it was a pleasure to follow on to the decks. Thanks to all who travelled from Northampton, Peterborough, Lincoln (Julie) and Aberdeen (Owen and Phil) and everyone who helped.
We’ll be doing it all again sometime soon, as always watch this space or sign up for the mailing list.
