Jonna from CityFly and Jammy Gee will be joining babble djs to provide you with some top quality tunes.

Festivities kick off outside around mid-day with Doji providing the entertainment. babble will be setting up inside (full soundsystem) with house music starting around 9pm running through till 2am.

Its all for a good cause to raise money for LOROS so come down and get your groove on!

We’ll be taking a slightly smaller rig than the one we used for the birthday, should still be more than enough to wobble your bassline bits

Update as well as the usual chunks of house goodness, we’ll have a smorgasbord of delightful tunes from Ed (Lobstafari) and and nice slice of DnB from Long Jon – something for everyone!

10pm – 6am, only £2 on the door – no excuses!

Expect a monumental soundsystem with trouserflapping bass, lots of friendly faces and some seriously fat, funky house music.

babble will be hosting the main room downstairs with sets from Rob, Deb, Mono and Damien.

Upstairs Will says there will be: “a mix of Rock and Metal from the 90’s downwards into the 70’s, with a good smelly chuck of cheesy tunes thrown in for good measure. Plus a mystery DJ set later in the night, just to keep us on our toes… if it all goes to plan”.

The Old Mill can be reached on foot via the towpath from King Richards Road. Head north, take the footbridge over the weir, and the Old Mill is in a courtyard on your left just before the lock.

From the A50 / Frog Island: Find the (now closed) Northbridge Tavern on Frog Island (by the canal), follow the road opposite the pub by the canal – past the lock and into North Mills, listen out for the music – if you end up on the foot bridge over the weir you’ve gone too far.

Get yourselves down to Lallie Bella on Friday 20th March. Main room soundsystem will be a Techno affair, provided by Doji/BWPT with a guest slot for Debs (tech house set). Mini – babble will be on the very top floor in the bar – not the full soundsystem as its kind of an awkward space and lots of stairs, but there is a nice outside roof terrace adjoining the bar. We will be taking PA just not the really big bits DJ’s upstairs will include Lobstafari, Mono, Damien and Rob Forreal.

Despite a slightly lower turnout than last time you groovers did us proud, keeping the dancefloor buzzing right through till 4am (that trip to the council for the late license was worth it after all!). Thanks too to all the helpers who made the load in and load out relatively painless – no falling speaker injuries this time thankfully (Damien was noticeably absent from the load in, once bitten and all that). It really makes a big difference to have all those extra hands. Thanks also to those who helped out on the door (Gail, Dick and others I’m sure), and all the sound and light crew. I hope you’ll agree it sounded clear and very loud – apologies to the backroom djs who got a bit drowned out. We need to fit some sort of acoustic curtain between the two rooms, suggestions welcome!

Sound on the videos is rather muffled I’m afraid, the mic on my camera can’t cope with the sound levels especially the sub-bass (mmm lovely sub bass).

… and here they are! Ooo blimey this one has crept up quick on me. We’ve been scurrying around like crazy things modifying and adding things to the soundsystem so it should sound even better than last time! We’ve spent some of the hard earned pennies you pay on the door for our gigs on fixing one of our old amps and buying a new mahoosive one to make the bass super wobbly.

In the house room we’ll have babble residents mono, debs, rob and damien spinning the tunes, and very excited they are about doing it too, lots of new records to seduce your dancing intentions.

The second room will be hosted again by Long Jon with his ever expanding setup, new sound there and more lights. Lobstafari will also be gracing the decks with his fishy stylings, and we’re proud to announce a return to the decks of none other than Big Al who specializes in most funksome grooves.

It all kicks off at 10pm, late license has been approved by the council so we’re good to go till 4am provided there are no last minute objections. Get down before 11pm for £4 entry, £6 after.
